Answers

Answer 1

In "Letter from a Birmingham Jail," Martin Luther King Jr. argued for the importance of nonviolent direct action and the need for immediate and urgent action to address the issues of racial segregation and discrimination.

Here are five big takeaways from the letter:

The urgency of the civil rights struggle: King emphasized that the struggle for civil rights was not a matter of gradual change, but rather an urgent and immediate need for action. He argued that justice cannot be delayed and that waiting for change to happen naturally would only perpetuate the status quo.

The power of nonviolent resistance: King advocated for nonviolent resistance as the most effective means of achieving social change. He argued that nonviolent resistance could create a "tension" that would force those in power to address the issues at hand, without resorting to violence.

The importance of breaking unjust laws: King argued that laws that were unjust and discriminatory should not be obeyed and that civil disobedience was a necessary means of challenging the status quo. He believed that individuals have a moral obligation to break unjust laws and accept the consequences of their actions.

The need for unity: King emphasized the importance of unity among all those who were fighting for civil rights. He argued that the struggle was not just for African Americans, but for all those who believed in justice and equality.

The role of the church: King believed that the church had a moral obligation to speak out against injustice and to be at the forefront of the civil rights struggle. He argued that the church could not remain silent on issues of social justice and that it had a responsibility to be a voice for the oppressed.

What changes did they make?

One way was through agriculture, as they cleared forests, constructed terraces on hillsides, and built canals and reservoirs to irrigate crops like maize, beans, and squash.

Another way was through the construction of cities, which required the quarrying and shaping of stone, the creation of roads and causeways, and the building of massive structures like pyramids and temples using labor-intensive techniques. Answer:

Karl Marx criticized the exploitation of workers, alienation, class struggle, and economic crisis in Capitalism and the Industrial Revolution. He believed these aspects were dehumanizing and would eventually lead to the downfall of Capitalism.

Explanation:

Karl Marx criticized several aspects of Capitalism and the Industrial Revolution, including:

1. Exploitation of workers: Marx argued that Capitalism relied on the exploitation of workers, who were forced to sell their labor for low wages while the capitalists kept the profits.

2. Alienation: He claimed that Capitalism alienated workers from their own labor, from the products they produced, and from each other, leading to a loss of meaning and purpose in their lives.

3. Class struggle: Marx believed that Capitalism created a class struggle between the bourgeoisie (the capitalists who owned the means of production) and the proletariat (the workers who sold their labor), which would eventually lead to the overthrow of the bourgeoisie and the establishment of a classless society.

4. Economic crisis: Marx argued that Capitalism was prone to economic crisis, as the constant drive for profit led to overproduction, which in turn led to market saturation and economic downturns.

Overall, Marx criticized the exploitative and dehumanizing aspects of Capitalism, which he believed would eventually lead to its downfall.

Aside from acomplishing the right to vote, several leagues that fought for the rights of African Americans were formed in the 1860´s and later on, African Americans also managed to influence the rise to power of the Republicans to Congress in 1866 and changed the face of Reconstruction, with a more active role for them. Between 1867 and 1877, a period known as the Radical Reconstruction, African Americans received from Congress the status of U.S citizens and acquired all the rights that came with that. Hence the average of 8 10 5 4 is output as 6, not 6.75.Note: The test cases include four very large input values whose product results in overflow. You do not need to do anything special, but just observe that the output does not represent the correct product (in fact, four positive numbers yield a negative output; wow).Submit the above for grading. Your program will fail the last test cases (which is expected), until you complete part 2 below.Part 2Also output the product and average using floating-point arithmetic.Output each floating-point value with three digits after the decimal point, which can be achieved by executingcout Find a quadratic function that includes the set of values below.
